Seems more and more people say they hate christmas. I was going to make it a poll, but I think its more complicated than yes or no.

Im dreading the downturn in sales and I cant stand christmas generally. Im sick of carols and tinsel already.

Im looking forward to seeing my parents, sister and my niece - and to a lesser extent the dog who slobbers over me.

My neice is 10 so christmas is still kind of nice in that respect.

am i looking forward to christmas? you bet!

i'm always happy to see my family/extended family, weird though they are, and that's something i do regularly. we're looking forward to getting our tree tomorrow night and decorating it - got a perfect spot for it in the livingroom. and i feel great about the gifts we're giving this year AND the gifts i already know about that i'm getting.

hehehe... I should actually know everything I'm getting too, but thanks to this goofy memory of mine acting up ever since the heart attack .... I'm going to be so surprised!

We celebrate Solstice, but I do enjoy spending time with my Mom and siblings for the Xmas dinner. Just hoping the weather allows us to make the drive there this year.

I hate Christmas. Too much fuss.

As for slow sales, well, the lead up to Christmas in December is always a little poor, but once the big day arrives we have always experienced TERRIFIC sales right through to early January when most people have to go back to work :) ;)

In fact, 1st January 2008 was our third EVER best new sales day!

I love Christmas this year! We put up our tree December 1st and I did almost all my Christmas shopping on black Friday. I finally mailed the last of my gifts to friends today.

I know that Christians like Marcjacob love this holiday because it's celebrating the birth of their Christ Lord, but for me it's just a holiday of giving and showing friends and family how much I appreciate them. I'm feeling more and more pagan as the years pass but I'll always celebrate Christmas I think, after all it's the one time of year that Christians show their good will to everyone and that's a good thing!

I fucking hate Christmas. If I have to hear anymore Christmas music I'm going to strangle someone. If I have to see anymore fake snowmen in LOS FUCKING ANGELES I'll strangle someone.

I can't wait for the day after Christmas.

its a bit of a double edged sword for me...

i hate christmas, christmas trees, decorations and the songs being played and sung doesnt even qualify as music to me

However i love the food, the gifts and spending time with my mom... living abroad christmas is one of the few times where i really have the time to spend some quality time with her..

I love Christmas, got my family staying over and doing proper English Christmas, got everything planned to the last little nibbles. Turkey ordered, half a ton of sausages, I baked the christmas pudding in July.. Ordered half the sweet dpartment at Fortnum and Mason.. cant wait! :)

I think I found some really great christmas gifts, so will be fun to see what the family and boyfriend thinks. Giving is fun. Not so exciting getting things anymore though, thats what i miss the most from being a kid. The excitment of opening gifts!

I'm really not a fan of Christmas either... seems like a whole quarter of the year of preparation and stress, just for 1 day...

I have a love hate relationship with the Holidays.
I do love the get togethers and such.
But I hate the gift thing for my family. I never have any idea what to get my brother and sisters kids.

You're such a sweet boy, what a lucky family you have there! I hope my sons turn out like this (doing my best towards that too!).

It's Hannuka here next week. We don't do Christmas, obviously, no trees or carols in sight in this country. For those of you with a Christmas aversion, I suggest a December holiday in Israel. Perfect weather and lots of Hannuka donuts ;)
