Bought a new Sony Laptop a month or so ago...and of course proceeded to spill a soda on it a week or so ago.... now it has to get a new motherboard a new fan and a new powersupply. No, I did not get the extended warranty, and I did not buy it with Amex. So that turned out to be a $700 Soda. :)

DO NOT feed your laptop sodapop, they just don't like it.

I hear though, that if you feed it Red Bull, it does speed up a bit whistle

argh, that sucks. I haven't done that yet, but I did dump almost an entire smoothie into my $250 ergonomic keyboard a couple years ago.

Fortunately, the company had a policy where you could send it in for service (it was still under warranty, but smoothies aren't covered) and they would fix it inexpensively (I think it was $35 or something)

If you bought it on a debit or credit card, did you think of checking with Visa or Mastercard? Both have replacement programs last I checked. They aren't as good as Amex, but I've gotten claims paid in the past

Dont talk to me about ergonomic keyboards, ive gone through 4 of them in 1 year! 2 with coffee, 1 tea and one with coke.. :bang:

And they stopped making those damn things!

But that doesnt beat doing your laptop in.. I feel for you!

You might consider this (kinesis.com), it's what I ended up with after trying a bunch of different ones (after a repetitive stress injury). I've had no problems with my wrists since switching.

Plus, it's mostly self-serviceable and you can buy the individual pieces relatively inexpensively (compared to the cost of the whole keyboard) if you have a habit of feeding your keyboard on a regular basis.

ah right, yes I got the microsoft version of that.. well I had which was excellent until the last incident.

The problem with your is how it looks.. my office is a bit minimalistic.. black, white and glass only :)

So my search goes on for a black ergo keyboard!

Meanwhile no drinks allowed!
