i often prefer promoting smaller programs. the reason is that sometimes a smaller program seems to really understand their niche, and delivers what members and surfers in that niche are looking for. these programs are the ones that tend to retain well enough that i make more money than with pay per signup programs.

on the other hand, i know some people who prefer larger sponsors because they offer so many sites and tend to offer more sales tools.

discuss ;)

Really depends. I tend to do better with sites from smaller programs as they are usually not over saturated.

I would be interested to see what people say here.

I don't have much experience so can't really give my opinion, but I seem to struggle to find enough content with the smaller niche sites to promote them effectively.

Over saturated... hits the nail on the head for larger sites.

i'm not talking about smaller niches, but smaller programs - programs with only one site or at the most 3 or 4.

smaller niches do sell better - much better if they owners know both their niche AND how to do a paysite - but some of the owners of small niche sites tend not to understand affiliate needs.

abostonboy - don't you think it's time to add blakemason to your sig? ;)

Yeah. Maybe. You know it's strange, in all the years that I have been posting, it was only last year that I put something in my sig. Now it just seems like such a chore to figure it out!

Its not always true that big sponsor = over saturated. Look at Intense Cash, they are everywhere but still convert like crazy.

I guess I prefer medium sized sponsors. I like sponsors who can give me great sites that they work hard on, and that can give me enough content to push out AVS sites with. Small sites dont have the content, big sponsors often dont update. Especially in these days of big link lists wanting 50-60 pic minimums, it gets to find the content to fill a site with.

In all actuality, I like to market sites that I like. Both in the content offered to members and the niche. I always have a better time selling a niche that I like.

I prefer to promote ethic programs, small or big doesn't really matters, but usually smaller programs are more "affiliates friendly".
