Cost Of Models - How Much?

In another board and in another thread it was brought up that a model was not getting paid over $500. What is even more strange is that this company's rep (Hyde Park) is getting a bad name.

My question is - What is the going rate for models. $500 seems DAMN CHEAP! I have an idea of what our videos cost, and it's nowhere near $500.

My question. Does it cost more for web models than DVD models?

i've found web models to be cheaper than DVD models, not more expensive - although if your DVD company is a major brand, some guys will go lower in price so they can add you to their list of companies they're worked with.

i know people who get curious amateurs and college students to model for $100 for solo, $250 for hardcore. of course, those are amateur shoots, so the model doesn't spend hours and hours. and there are some pro adult models i've talked to who will do a scene for $500 - $600. on the other hand, some companies offer $1200 or more up front without worrying about what the models are used to being paid.

Rates can vary by company but that amount is not unheard of at all and like others have said it can be even lower. Then there is the other side of the spectrum, studios and Sean Cody's pay more money.
