I thought it might be useful for affiliates to give some tips to sponsors about what we find useful and what we dont. Ive heard alot of people asking on various boards lately about what tools affiliates will actually use. So here is your chance to tell them!
For me:
1. photo zips should have about 15 pics in and should not be all g rated (I cant use them if they are). If you do sets with a couple of pics in, you may get bloggers but not freesite/tgp/avs.
I like full sized photos. Lloyd told me to stop resizing my photos, and he was right! I do make more sales than I did resizing them.
2. Email updates! If you email me when you have new promo content, your MUCH more likely to get onto my blogs. I know other people who work that way too.
3. FLV files that are hosted are very useful, or videos in wmv format. I personally cant play .mpegs so I dont use them in case surfers cant. When Ive used .mpegs Ive made next to no sales.
I like 1-2 min or 30 second clips. Will be useful to see what others want! Again x rated!

i'm with both of those - at least 15 pics per folder, at least 600 pixels wide per pic. content emails with program or site title and date in subject line.
everything has to show dick and action unless it's a fetish site or non nude site - muscle sites can send out non-x-rated content, btw, although nude is good, too.
content in folders with the site and model or episode name. that way, i don't have to guess which is which when i have 7 folders sitting there.
i prefer WMV clips, 1 minute to 2 1/2 minutes each in long. 400 pixels wide or wider, only one episode per clip, no letterboxing.
content to be archived at program site.
all blog content to include at least a few words so we know the names of the models, and preferably which model is which.
a variety of banners including some standard sized banners, some buttons and some more interesting sizes like 125x250 or 250x250. the banners should show the dudes, not a tiny pic and a HUGE site title.

Can I add to the zipped sets, make them 15 GOOD pics. I know your content is precious to you, but so is the $$$'s you get when they buy. Our use of these pics is about showing off how hot and sexy your site is. 15 good hot pics which are not all the same pose and show variety, will best make your site attractive to surfers.

These would be some of the things I would find useful:
If you're providing free hosted galleries, test them first in scripts like TGPX or SmartThumbs to make sure they will work with the cropping tool.
If you're providing free hosted movie galleries, dont watermark the thumbnail images in the gallery.
If you give us access to the members' area for content, and we actively promote the program, please automatically renew the access when it expires or simply make it permanent when first granting it.
Weekly emails are helpful, but make sure that they can get through the average spamfilter. Maybe check with some affiliates on ICQ to make sure that they are receiving the emails you send out. If I have to remember to look in my junk mail folder each time, then I'm less likely to promote your program compared with a sponsor that doesn't have the same issue.

About RSS feeds.. are those gone the way of the Dodo and El Coyote?

I still use RSS but they dont sell as well. FLVs would be nice Jasun :)

Yeah, I hit a wall when I asked about those before. But we'll see after we finally get CocksureMen.com up and running.
when we decided to delay the launch we wound up making even more fundamental changes and we're crazy at work late into the night trying to get it all done...
But I'll try again...
About RSS feeds.. are those gone the way of the Dodo and El Coyote?
No, and I recommend that programs make them available.

1. Our updates usually have 30+ high res hardcore and softcore pics
2. we send out email updates once or twice a week
3. yup, we have hosted FLV files, most are 1:10 each

Yup, we offer those too, 1min 10 seconds as well, in downloadable zips. We also have hosted mp4 files if you promote our sites to ipod/iphone users.

- we enter all our galleries into smart-thumbs, which have to be approved before added, so I assume they work with ST. Plus I enter them into my own SiteOrganizer script to make the thumbs that I use in our NATS system. Unfortunately, I don't have time to test every single tgp script, but if you do have problems please let me know so I can get them fixed.
- sorry, but the automated gallery maker script snaps a screenshot with watermark, doing it any other way would take about ten thousand times longer for me, literally, meaning affiliates would get maybe 10 new FHGs a month instead of 50+ a week.
- we only change those review logins when we have to (due to abuse)
- good idea about the spam filters, it would also be nice if you whitelist our email to make sure you get our updates!

- traffic on our 20 RSS feeds / hosted blogs shows they are used more and more every week, and I am always getting affiliates asking for more blog posts of one model or of one paysite, which I do try to oblige.

okay, got one more. a reasonable watermark.
a watermark is one thing, but a HUGE overpowering watermark on videos or pics is probably too much to keep me from being able to use it.

Mancheck AVS will actually decline a site if the watermark is too big. I think its was twinks.com that caused me trouble, but they gave me wm access as it was only the promo pics with huge watermarks.

FHG's are great and bulk downloadable FHG links are SUPER!
Blog RSS feeds DO make sales, and it is better to have more in the post than just one picture and a small amount of text. Several pictures 300 px + wide and a hosted tube video work well.
Detailed stats are good. NATS is an example of good stats.
