It's about £300 - not much, but some fuckface did get my card details from somewhere and withdrew money in fucking Sri Lanka - I've never even been to that island!
Anyway - let my rant be a reminder for you ALL to check your account ALL THE TIME!
And to remind you that you should always keep a check on who to - and where to - you sent your debit/credit card details.
Don't message me saying how sorry you feel for me - just CHECK your account and make sure no tosser gets to your money! that is all I want!

It has happened to all of us. The worst is when it happens when you REALLY need the card to make a big purchase and of course you are waiting for the "new card".

someone stole my paypal card in november and used it to charge 400+ at kmart without my pin and paypal has still not returned my money!!!!!!!! I submitted a faxed copy of the charges to the # they gave me right away and got a confirmation email dec 12th it's now march 18th and nothing! I called a month ago and got the run around for and hour plus, then some bitch tells me that there really isnt any info and the security people who handle it are backed up and i cant call or email them that is their policy, so i just have to wait, 5months and counting almost 6, so much for fraud protection, and the fact that its a debit card and they used it without my pin# is BS

Well you are in good company it seems.
PORTLAND, Maine — A security breach at an East Coast supermarket chain exposed 4.2 million credit and debit card numbers and led to 1,800 cases of fraud, the Hannaford Bros. grocery chain announced Monday.
The breach affected all of its 165 stores in the Northeast, 106 Sweetbay stores in Florida and a smaller number of independent groceries that sell Hannaford products.
Hannaford said credit and debit card numbers were stolen during the card authorization process and about 4.2 million unique account numbers were exposed.

Both MC & VISA aren't commenting, which can't be good news. Though it does make you wonder, how we have become so addicted to plastic, and now with SMS billing and all, I really don't see this easing. :bang:

Bloody hell, and a business account. Your bank really should have double checked that type of transaction. HSBC keep checking mine even for the most straight forward transaction.. which is actually over the top and becoming a real pain.. :bang:
Still, hope you can get it sorted and get the money back!

I worked for a bank. Unless they can prove that someone has acquired your details through your own negligence, then they have to give you your money back. Demand that they freeze interest on the amount in dispute too!
