TropixxxMichael, your site is down at the moment it comes up as apache config screen or something:
http://www.tropixxxvip.com/
Seems to be the same no matter if I use your affiliate codes or go directly to the site.

Thanks. We were alerted to that late last night by our Hosting Company, DWHS. Apparently, their ENTIRE network went down. They tell me that they are re-programing the servers, but so far nothing. One of my other sites, TropixxxStudios.com is up one hour, down the next. Very frustrating as that is what I use for my primary emails.
Thank you for alerting me...even though I knew about it already. Doubtful that many would take the time. One more reason why I love it here!
(And yes, we have begun making arrangements for a dedicated box at a new hosting company. - Having sites down for over 24 hours is inexcusable.)

No problem, i tought it was best to let you know just incase.
It is pretty bad for a host to be down for that long..:whip:

Yes, and thanks again.
I agree that they should not be down that long, and as far as I am aware of, this is the first time in four years that our TropixxxStudios.com site has been down for longer then a few minutes and the second time our TropixxxVIP.com site has been down at all. (The first time was because I had a password trader and used too much bandwidth, so they shut me down at 250 GB, but then it was back up as soon as we worked it out and added the anti-trading stuff.)
All in all, I have been mostly happy with DWHS, but with them I have been using "virtual servers" and I think it is time to "grow up" and get my own box. ;o) Which I actually just did...and am now in the process of setting things up.

You got that right.
What's even more un-excusable is when they offer you a free month of hosting to make up for it. Never covers the cost of the site being down.

Well... the other thing is, "Network down" and "reprogramming the servers" don't go together. Sounds like the ISP is feeding you a load of crap as to what actually happened.
If the network had actually gone down, once they fixed the network issue, all the servers would have come back online. Sounds more like either they got hacked big time, or the server's hard drive died and they had to rebuild or something.
Not that it really matters in the end, I just don't like it when an ISP -- the lifeblood of any webmaster's business -- can't give the straight scoop.
You'll be a lot happier on your own box ;)

i'm with chip here - EITHER the network is down OR they're reprogramming the servers. the two aren't the same thing. my third possibility - you misundertood what they meant.

Well not that it matters anymore since I am changing to a new host, but I was told late Sunday night that they had a server down, and it would be a few hours....then Monday AM I was told it was a re-programing error and it would be a few hours...and NOW I just got notice on their forum that it will be a MINIMUM of 48 hours to get the sites effected back up.
I have already changed my DNS pointers to my new host, and TropixxxStudios.com is back up, and I put a placeholder page at TropixxxVIP.com telling people I am working on it. I contacted CCBill, and they are standing by ready to load the scripts once I get my content back up...which I am doing now.

As I upload to a new host...this is the notice I just received from my old host:
"I can imagine how upset some of your are. We believe this was a advanced hacker maybe with inside information on our company. The magnitude is due to so many servers getting effected at once. Our back up servers can only transfer information so fast and at one time.
We have three techs now and I personally have slept for 4 hours and worked straight through since 10 am Sunday.
We are so sorry but things are now getting faster as less servers are pulling from the back up server.
We hope to be back 100% by tomorrow sometime."
UGH. By then, all my info will be safely uploaded onto the new server. Oh well. Lesson Learned.

Be happy that you are no longer with this company. They seem like a bunch of dumbasses.

LOL. Thanks. Later this week (once I calm down) I will post a thread which details my lessons learned from this experience, so hopefully others can learn from my mistakes.
If I posted today, it would read something like "XXXX Hosting can suck my XXXXX while I XXXXX their XXXXX from their XXXXXX and XXXXXX down their XXXXXX, XXXXX, XXXXXX, XXXXX and XXXXX!"
For now, I will calm down, write my post, sit on it, read it again, then edit, and THEN finally post it.
