I must admit it is all I can do to muster up the energy to hunt down new traffic, even though I know it is what gets the $$$ in.
How do you get through these dulldrums?
Who and what exactly are you marketing with? (paysites, freesites, tgps, blogs etc) Perhaps then we could offer something we do to break up the monotony.

My master plan (I'm not afraid to share it :) ) is to get my first blog up and going and then create more blogs and perhaps tgps and freesites after that. I don't have a lot of expendable cash, so I thought I would use the profits from this first blog to fund the other stuff.
Here are my stats:
Blog has been live for 10 days.
927 unique visitors
highest day was yesterday with about 450 visitors
that's from 17 referring sites.
Is this normal progress? Or, should I step it up a bit?

But what are you promoting on your blog?
Is it bareback sex, is it twinks, is it a new way to grow flowers? Kind of need to know what it is your blog is about, are you pushing your own content, that being yourself, or is it content you get from sponsors, like Blue Loot, Hunks Money or Blake Mason? Is it bears or videos?
Then maybe we can sort of give you some help, or at least answer the questions better.

if there's a lot of relevant text on each of your blog posts, they should start picking up targeted search engine hits. you might also want to submit a sitemap to google and one to yahoo.

Google is rarley kind to me, but with past blogs Ive found that after Ive given up and decided its not working, that when google starts to pick it up and I get some sales. So with that Id say you have to be really paitent. Dzinebear has told me to build my Gremlins site and just throw up content with an orgional text description for each, and forget about Google, and then it will come in time, so thats what Im doing now.

A few tips:
- it should only take you 30 minutes to do all your posts for one week on your blog, you should use the other ~39.5 hours/wk (if full time or whatever) to do other work. If it takes you way longer than 30 minutes, you are probably over thinking it
- 10 days is way too fast to worry about traffic, you probably aren't even spidered in all the search engines yet, just let it ride and continue doing what you are doing and then after a couple of months check your stats
- with blogs its important to build an inner network and to share links with others in an outer network. I suggest taking that extra 39.5h/wk and set a target of building and releasing one new blog per week (or one new TGP site or one new freesite, etc).
And finally, don't expect to make a lot of cash in the first 3 months of doing adult, its not that easy but if you stick it out you may have just found a fantastic career that allows you to work at home, when you want, wherever in the world you want, etc....
cheers,
Luke

Sounds like I have a few misunderstandings of how the blogs should work! Thanks so much for the input.
If it isn't too much trouble, can someone pvt message me links to your blogs (not sure if it is OK for people to just post them in the forum) so I can see what you're doing? I think I can learn a lot by looking at a few good examples.
Thanks again!

what do you mean an affiliate blog? i take it this is a blog for surfers and not affiliates. if that is the case, it's just a blog, not an affiliate blog ;)
most people who do blogs are affiliates, btw. the question was more what niche you are blogging, which is apparently college guys.
why not go to gaydemon.com and check out the gaydemon blog? http://www.gaydemon.com/blogs/
keep in mind that the blog is part of a larger site - it's not a standalone - but the basics are all there :)
you can also go to this thread http://www.gaydemon.biz/showthread.php?t=667 and check the sites there. of course, the first one - bestmaleblogs.com - isn't a blog: it's a directory of tons of blogs.

Sorry! I'm still trying to get used to the correct terminology. I do, indeed, have just a blog. :)
Thanks for the info.
