I checked out the TOS and I didn't see anything, but I just wanted to make sure I didn't overlook anything.

Also, any thoughts of them as a blog host?

You talking about Blogger type site, or the premium hosting that wordpress is offerring bloggers?

I was wondering about their general free blog account. I didn't see anything in the TOS, but it is possible I missed it or it is just generally known.

Okay, no, they aren't fond of adult, but its about being caught, and depends on adult. naked pics & stuff they won't accept, judging from some of the comments I have seen. I can't quote any tos stipulation, though I believe it is in there somewhere.

Why not avoid finding your site suddenly gone and go over to www.adultblogbuilder.com and look down my far right hand sidebar and signup at some of the adult free hosted blog sites?

Actually, I did take a look at those -- and scoured your site (it's really helpful!).

I thought that if wordpress blog hosting accepted adult content then they might be the way to go since (theoretically) wordpress would design their site to work seamlessly with the Word Press download.

Bec, since there are some issues with Wordpress do you know if any of the options on your site work better with wordpress than others?

I'm afraid you'll have to be a bit more specific here as to what options you want clarified.

As to the free adult blog hosts, all you do is create an account. They already have wordpress installed. You'll get a bunch of theme options to decorate with but won't have the ability to add your own plugins or upload your own theme.

Tip: create your first account with an actual niche/domain name you'd want to have ... like wetandwildboys -- that translates to a url of wetandwildboys.sensualwriter.com for instance. Once you have the first name, you're allowed to create additional ones and you have access to all of them from wherever you're logged in to the admin panel.

Thanks, Bec. Unfortunately because I have little (read: no) experience with wordpress I don't know what to ask. :)

You've given me the courage to dive in and play around a bit. Thanks again.

Try out Movable Type, its much more stable and user friendly.

I use it on several sites:

http://www.pornisation.com/ (design not quite finished yet)

http://www.gaydemon.com/blogs/ (3000 posts without no problems).

Wordpress.com does not allow adult at all.

Some do it on typepad.com, but I am still confused if they do. With typepad you can use MT.

I suppose my question would be, why do you want a hosted blog?

i was wondering that, also.

in certain circumstances i can see a reason - that is if the blog host network sends the blogs its own traffic. otherwise, with hosting as low as $5 a month, and a huge virtual account available for $12, i can't see the point.

I'm going to start checking out how we can incorporate blogs and I don't want to pay anything out of my own pocket since I don't own the site.

I'm also the type of person who would rather say, "look what we can do!" than to ask for money up front and have a bumpy start.

Well if you already have a domain, and host, which I would assume you would have, what costs are there? The WP software is free, plugins are free, so it would simply be your time to install (about 5 minutes) then poke around to see how you could work it. Install in a sub folder of any existing domain.

You should note that using a blogging service is close to using the real thing, but there are limitations that you don't have when you install the software on your own domain.

heck, if you're with NatNet, just put in a support ticket and they'll even install it for you. Just tell them if you want it in a subfolder, tell them the subfolder name to use (don't use wordpress or wp_something), or if you want it in the root of an empty domain.
