so today when i came to the board, i was told that i had to choose a new password. yuck. i've never had a board do that - i have a password on one board that i set up in 1999.

does anyone here feel that this is a handy security feature? if not, perhaps we can turn this feature off.

I havent been asked but Im guessing you were among the very first to register so the rest of us will be us in the weeks to come.

I hate this and would defo vote to turn it off. I just start to remember a password and it gets changed on me lol

I agree. However its was only setup for moderators or admins, not all users. :)

Ugh, I HATE boards that do that.

If my bank hasn't asked me to change my online banking password since 1990 (and I'm not kidding, I've been using it since then) then I shouldn't have to change a password here :)

Me hate it too... like I am old, have enough trouble remembering where the on switch is for the computer, never mind the password. whistle

I think it is a good feature and should be done frequently.

Pooh on that. The only time this software will ask for a new password is when someone who can change templates ( Bjorn, are ya listenting? ) does.

Then your browsing software can't link a site or page to a U.P reference...

But, change is good...

Y'all should be here in the very hub of democracy - Denver, CO, where the fricken' convention is being held against my wishes.
