I agree - I was trying to figure out what's cool about this board and you guys hit the nail on the head...
the scheme is very easy on the eyes and not all cluttered with stuff going on all over the place
good job!

Thanks!
Do you think there are too many options, menus and stuff.. It seems a bit cluttered and maybe to many advanced options!? Not sure if its confusing or not.
I will try and remove anything that no one uses but not just sure yet what is used and not.

I would take out Members List, that would be last, but first would be Calender and New Posts, I think those are pointless.
I think keep it to User CP, FAQ and Search and Log Out.
Oh yeah, you can remove the quick link and new posts also.

I would say there is too much white... my eyes hurt after 10 minutes!

Yeah, I agree too. I have bad eyes and the text looks like its moving sometimes with black on white.

Really? I always thought black on white was the best for eyes and usability.
Do you think it would help with a slight shade, like very very light blue or grey instead of white forum posts?
Or is it the background that should be darker?

It's the white background... glares at me and makes the board look like a hospital. A pale grey, blue or other colour would make things so much more relaxing to read.

White is the new black. :D
I personally love it. And those that think it black-on-white causes eye-strain might benefit from calibrating their monitors. Some of these new bright LCDs need to have the contrasted adjusted down a bit.
I just bought a new 24" glossy screen monitor with a high contrast ratio and I thought I was going to have to wear sunglasses when using it... it burned my retinas! Lol. But then I ran some calibration software that came with it and all is well now.

Personally I like the colors, as they are, as well as the options up top. Yes, even the members list, because it gives an old fart like me an opportunity to refresh my memory when looking for an individual to contact. Instead of wading through posts, its a helpful memory nag to recall a name. :bang:
I rather like the white background, and I too had to adjust my monitor to stop it from glaring, but once I figured out all the damn buttons, it works great and black on white is definitely easier on the eyes. :D

It's called EzTune. It came with the Gateway monitor. Btw, if anyone is in the market for a new 24" LCD, this monitor is fucking fabulous... http://www.gateway.com/accessories/product/1541351R.php?seg=hm
I didn't think I'd like the glossy screen because of the glare but it's made a huge difference in clarity.

I always found black on white a funny contrast cos I am slightly dypsy-lexic. However, the colours are good, I can appreciate that from a design perspective. If anyone finds the contrast hard, then let me know, I can recommend programs that help. Black on white is always an issue for dyslexic peeps. My personal fav is black on yellow, but my my it looks crap!
