960 X 540 Screen Size

I just came across a video with a screen size of 960 x 540 that almost fits Media Player perfectly on my wide screen monitor when the size is doubled. Is this the typical video configuration to fit widescreen monitors ?

dunno about that, but it's a typical widescreen video size. the smaller ones are usually 640x360, and 960x540 is the same ratio.
