Color Impact - it's a color picker that also helps you puts colours together
Frameshots - a screen grab program
Web Log Expert - a nice stats program
Filezilla - more stable than WS FTP
Flash Video MX - great for converting WMVs into Flash movies.

Its another script by the guys that make Blogs Organizer, here is the direct link (http://www.cheapestadultscripts.com/affiliates/click.php?ref=likemind&page=http://www.cheapestadultscripts.com/so/) and you can download a free copy of it which has a 5% skim. I know, his sales pages are totally cheezy 90s ebay style, but his scripts are really bloody good because they are simple and very powerful.
I just used S.O. to setup ~50 TGP sites, all on their own domains. It also makes free sites and other types of sites. These will be online as soon as ownership & DNS changes over this week so I will be back to list them. You can see my test sites in action at http://gayred.com and http://boy-web.com

Well, y'all forgot every webmaster's best friend:
WinXP Pro (SP-1)
-- When it comes to web authoring, you can't beat this for stability and forgivingness when you goof!
Images / Video:
PhotoShop v. 6 (manipulation)
EzThumbs v. 2.8 (bulk scaling)
MWSnap v. 3.0 (screenshots)
Pinnacle Studio 9 Deluxe (editing)
PowerDVD (reviewing streams)
Text / HTML / CSS:
Arachnaphilia v. 4 (Old, stable and flexible!)
Cascade v. 2.0 (basic and easy)
Email / Virus / Utes
Outlook Express
Norton 360***
Sometimes, older tools are still the best. Everything above represents a "mature" product, and I can count the number of system errors I have in a year on one hand.
***
Late last year, Norton's security product got a much needed rebuild. 360 runs nicely indeed and doesn't "hog" your machine.
Ciao 4 Now,

With Vista? :)
Ugh. I'm still having a nightmare of a time with Vista. I've been trying for over a month to install Acid Music Studio and it won't allow me unless I have a component of Visual C++ and Vista won't allow me to install that. You gotta love when a Microsoft OS won't let you install Microsoft software. Grrrr.

Ray,
I STILL think Norton is worse than a Virus!

WAMP for testing php programs and open source programs like Joomla, Drupal, or anything, as it simulates a server, which you can configure to match your own online server. Easy to play with themes for blogs, with code for CMS programs, and such.

Join the club. I could write a book about everything that Vista has messed up. I FINALLY got it to log my icq conversations with Trillian. That took a week.
Video encoding will drive you bananas.

I really really miss my WII, its in storage right now till we get our immigration stuff sorted out, but I really wish I would have packed it in my suitcases. Relaxation is very important, esp in our biz!!!
