Folks,

I'd like an opinion here.

I have ~ 60 free sites from 2004 - 2005 which have stopped making sales and only get a very occasional hit from the directories they're listed at.

I'm thinking about de-listing them and deleting them.

Weigh in with your $0.02 here...

Why de-list them? More hassle than it's worth contacting all the directories. Takes up your time and theirs. They may not be making sales, but they aren't doing any harm.

As a previous link list owner it drove me crazy when webmasters asked for sites to be de-listed.

What are the benefits to you in delisting them?

The answer to if you should do it really depends i think. I quite like listing older sites on gaydemon because its simple gives surfers more choice. And as it is now, a lot of older sites are actually better than most new ones.

Yeah, I can see that point.

I took a look again at the traffic stats on these, and it looks like they might not even be listed anywhere anymore - 1 hit since 02-01-2008. That's not even weekly or monthly robot traffic.

Maybe I'll move them out of my "legacy, marked for death" category into my "Michael Jackson, due for a facelift" category, rework 'em a tad, find out where they're not listed and list 'em there!
