In case you have a case of the 'let's be secure' and try the WP plug in, Ask Apache Password Protect (http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/askapache-password-protect/). Take some friendly advice DON'T USE IT
I tried on a couple of my blogs, didn't work and on the last one, took me ages to get my blog back online (http://gaystoryman.com/reviews/). It is too buggy to work for me, whether it is my server or what, I don't know, but when it goes bad, IT GOES REALLY BAD :grrr:
Thought I'd pass that one on.

Is this often the case for Word Press? I mean with bad plugins and little support?

Not really Bjorn. At least not from my experience. Most plugins for Wordpress - as long as they come from trusted sources - are pretty reliable for the most part.
With the newest version of WP, there are a few plugins I used with 2.3.1 that aren't available for 2.5. That kind of ticks me off a bit but hopefully they will be available soon.
As far as support goes....WP is still pretty good. IMO.
GSM - Thanks for the heads up on that plugin.

I think that for the most part, WP plugins are no different or better or worse than what you get for any other program, like say Joomla, Drupal, or anything.
Too many NEW versions pop out, developer's rush to fix or design to meet the NEW version, without any real testing. I mean it seems everyone is in a rush, so it works for them, out it goes, then they wait for feedback, to make corrections.
It is Industry Wide in my opinion, heck look at Vista from MS. All that work, huge company, and the bugs that are in it are unbelievable. Plug In or other software from smaller companies, are just the same, maybe little less buggy, but always buggy.
Firefox is releasing its Ver 3.0 but its RC has bugs.. will it be fixed before the final release?
Every time major software like WP upgrades, it becomes an adventure. :bang:
