I did go and buy the new Microsoft Office 2007, had no choice in the end. My new laptop with Vista on it wouldnt accept my old CD with Office 2003 on it, just wouldnt detect or run it.
ANyway, so i got it and installed it.
I also upgraded my old office to office 2007 and since upgrading specially Outlook is now really slow. I got a feeling its a new "search desktop" feature which slows it all done. But I cant find anywhere to switch it off. I dont need some bloody new search feature!
Also, the fonts are horrible in Outlook now, all blue background with some horrid old font. Anyone know how to change it?

I have a feeling Office 2007 was built for Vista, looks okay on there.
This may / may not help:

Oh, I had the exact same problem with outlook being REALLY slow...there are several websites and blogs that show you how to speed up outlook with some tweaks that really should have been done already by MS. Do a google search, thats how I found them.
Also, that instant search / desktop search feature is horrible. You can uninstall it, I believe that was one thing that made a huge difference in speed with my install.

No i havent actually, i should really. I'm quite disappointed in this upgrade that sort of was forced on me because new computers all now come preinstalled with bloody vista.
Does open office do much the same things as Outlook, word and excel? Outlook and excel being my most important. The problem would be to convert my excel sheets which got a lot of formulas and calculations.
