Last night I got scared shitless. I was surfing and hit a paysite. Then BOOM! This sound started playing (after I had turned off Itunes for the night and was doing some "peaceful" surfing)/ To say the least, i hit the back button.
Does anyone else find sound on paysites annoying?

Yes, incredibly annoying. Anything that plays automatically annoys me. It has the cheek to use my bandwidth before I have given it permission :D

Sound in an absolute no-no. The only time it is acceptable is when someone clicks to preview a video.

it's not only annoying - it can cost sales. a lot of guys surf porn secretly, with their boss, wife or roommate nearby. imagine how they feel when the site they surf to blows their cover!

In the porn context, it's very annoying, any of it - even the PrideBucks heavy breath as you login...
There are some stellar gamer sites and musician fansites out there which play an mp3 clip when the site loads, and it really adds to the experience.
It's one of the few ways in which this industry stifles my personal creativity...

This stifling of creativity cuts both ways - now that they're old enough, I think the Hansons' fansite (http://www.hanson.net/) (which has music) should also show some dick...

Usually when I hit a site that has sound I immediately hit the back button. One night on gfy i couldn't figure out what the sound was. It was the fucking banner at the top.

in porn.... i HATE sound. i can't figure out why doofuses use it.
on other sites.... still HATE it. i only want sound if I click on it.. never otherwise.
oh.. and i never again visit a site that plays sound.
