I was thinking about buying some traffic to send directly to my link list, mainly to send more traffic to submitters, but also to see my ads :)
Does anything think thats a good idea or a bad one? I am wondering if the traffic I buy will be particuarly productive.
Also does anyone have suggestions of good places to buy decent traffic?

I have purchased allot of traffic and most is very low productivity. Since we are a VOD site you might be better off with a link list.
Productive places for us are:
BuyGayTraffic - North American Exit and Text link traffic
MenOnTheNet - PPC
Google - PPC
Not preforming:
Looksmart
7Search
QualityVisitors
BetterVisitors
I hope someone will post some other suggestions and I'll give them a try also.

Thanks for the lists VODBOB, I had also been wondering about where you could find some good paid traffic sources. ;)

Marc,
I would do Google PPC, but read a book on buying Google traffic before you do and watch the clicks.
MOTN wont let you buy their traffic as you are a link list and competing with them.
Buy Gay Traffic will be hot or miss. I would send to a page that had some thumbs/pics.

Lloyd do you think doing TGP galleries and submitting to both paid and non paid could help? That would hopefully generate some sponsor sales too. If I push Blake Mason on them (and have a link to Gremlins) perhaps you could offer some tips?

I use Google PPC quite a bit, have a set monthly budget with them.
As well as some other sites through Adbrite / AVN Ads.
Its really hard to say if it is productive or not, had I charged a membership then yes you would have know if it made sense to do it or not. As gaydemon (and your own link list) is a free site there is no way of setting up a good goal really.
I do think its a healthy way of getting traffic you otherwise might never have recieved as long as you make sure to only buy words or traffic from sites where you would not already be listed.
It might sound silly but you would be surprised..

The last time I purchased traffic (2 years ago) I ended up with overseas 404 garbage (mostly China) instead of the expired domain clicks I was promised. I'm not mentioning the company because they have gone out of business since.
My advice:
If you're skeptical about the traffic, use separate landing pages and use a "hardwired" counter like BBClone (http://bbclone.de/) to grab stats on those pages so you can see immediately and easily where your hits are coming from.

Ray, your story is all too common. I bought traffic once that was supposed to be fully qualified & clicked traffic and it ended up it was nothing more than a pop under from some shitty straight site that resulted in me very quickly going through my initial $100 budget, with zero results. Finding a good paid traffic source is like finding gold, its near impossible to do but every once in a while you can succeed. But, whatever you do, always test a new traffic source with a small amount, like $100 or $200, thats enough to get a very good taste of their traffic without losing too much if it doesn't work.
