"Hello, this message is being sent to everyone who recently bought items from me on eBay. I'm messaging you to update you on the status of the shipping of your item. Due to my work schedule, I am only able to ship on weekends. Last weekend the steering column in my car had an electrical malfunction which led to me having to buy a new car. I have business I have to attend to on Saturday and will not make it to the post office before they close. As such, the items will not be shipped until next Saturday, 5/10/08. I apologize for the delay and wanted to let everyone know what was going on. Feel free to e-mail me if you have any questions. Thanks :)"

I won about $500 worth of stuff from this ebayer about three weeks ago. Jeez!

Think it will ever come? Things like that seem to always end the same, with no products ever showing up, and no refund ever issued. Do they have good feedback? Been around a while?

Yes. Actually VERY good feedback. 100% with over 1,000 feedbacks. What REALLY pisses me off is that it was a Mother's Day gift. And real hard to find at that.

That sucks that it was for mothers day, at least you will get it though it seems with the good feedbacks. Maybe just send mom some flowers, and let her know she will have another package arriving about a week later ;)

OMG, NOT FLUFFY! Oh no..... he was so young..... how did it happen, I hope peaceful in his sleep. My grandfather died peacefully in his sleep, it was the passengers in the car that were screaming.

VOD - that cracked me up!

I always get suspicious when "explanations" begin to contain too much extraneous information -- like the steering wheel bit. Still, perhaps he just had an embarrassing event happen and didn't want to tell everyone about a medical problem or something like that.

Sorry to hear it was your mom's day gift.

Sounds like a load of bollocks to me...

Ebay .. pffft *spits* ....

The only advice I can give is either :

1. Avoid it like the plague

OR

2. If you are a buyer always use a credit card NOT a debit card or direct bank transfer either...

You are much better protected....

Do not think you are covered by PayPal .. You really must read the Terms and Conditions and you will see that you are actually covered for fuck all in most cases, and at very best £500, but they have clauses to work around that ;)

As you may well gather I am not a fan of either :)

Yeah. I know all about PayPal. Actually PayPal is rather good. I use to be partners in a video game business on Ebay. On a good day we would 200+ units. We actually had to stop sending games outside the US and the only way we could get proff of delivery was shipping via UPS (which was outrageously expensive even for the volume we were doing) as we got so many disputed transactions from PayPal.

At least 10 actually posted positive feedback and then disputed the transaction with PayPal. To say the least, PayPal took the money out of our account. Even after seeing, "Great seller, Fast Delivery!".

PayPal is good at giving you the money for the transaction back, but not the shipping (unless the seller has the money in the account).

I STILL have an open issue with PayPal. It was an Apple IIgs computer that I bought three years ago and never got. PayPal refunded the money for the computer, but not the $25 shipping. Every time I ask them if I can get that resolved (just remove it from my account and not pay me), they say they wont in case the seller decides to use PayPal again they want to pay me for the shipping.

It maybe different in the UK. But as a seller I HATED when someone used PayPal vs. our merchant account for an international transaction. Once we shipped the game outside the US there was a chance that the buyer would say he never got the item and then we would get hit. It happened way too many times....
