Just wondering what others are doing . . .

How many hours do you put in a week on your site? Or, if you're working for a company, how many hours are you putting in to help their site prosper?

If you listen to my wife, way too much, if you listen to the accountant, way too little. lol

In all seriousness, I spend about 12 hours a day working on the online enterprises, except for the weekends. Then I manage to just get hooked for about 8 hours a day. Course if the internet goes down, well heck that's vacation time 666

I am usually on and off the computer all day, when I can get away from my other responsibilities. lol About 10-12 hours I would say.

It depends on which site. I run mainstream and adult. Generally, at the very least, I try to move stuff around a bit on front pages to keep things looking fresh. So that might be 30-60 mins a week on each site. Other times I spend a lot more adding new content, changing design... I also program stuff ahead to appear or disappear on certain days. With photo and video work, overall I probably work 60 hours a week.

However I find it is possible to leave some sites a long time without being updated and the money keeps coming in. Others, like blogs, need updating constantly with fresh content -- because whatever was added most recently is so prominent. Kind of stupid, because the latest addition is not necessarily the best your site has to offer. Which is one reason why I think blogs are not that great, despite the hype.

Does watching the videos to write about them count? Sometimes I have to.... Oh, you get the idea!

I dump about 50 hours per week in, but I'm a home office guy so it doesn't really seem like that much.

Compared to retail management (65+ weekly) or government contractor work (60 per week on SALARY!) it's not bad.

Compared to those 3am infomercials telling me I could be selling real estate and driving a Rolls, it's horrible.

we put a HUGE amount of time into barebackMasters working on our weekly updates, writing entries for our blog(s), creating new content, shooting Cam's series, "Cruisin' with Cam" - and of course, managing the people that work with us on BBM and then there are our new endeavors and the people involved in all of that stuff too.... not to mention maintaining a small office presence down in BH and dividing time between SF and LA for shoots, etc... what was the question? oh yeah, more time than the average person could afford to pay... (and that includes us!)

I work about 10-15 hours a week. 20-25 when I have a new project in the works.
