I just wanted to pass this on to everyone. Alta Gay Links has changed their recip button to a recip text link. They're implying on their submit page that if you still are using the button that your submission will be dumped.

I scrolled by the warning several times before I actually stopped to read it, so I suspect other webmasters and auto submitters are in the same boat.

What do they want you to use instead now? Interesting to know. I wonder why..

Probably SEO. Look at the keywords. Though they really have them in Google. Though not on Yahoo. Maybe that type of SEO is better on Yahoo?

Yes, they've eliminated the graphic banner/buttons and they're supplying html text packed with keywords.

I just did a page source search, and Alta has in fact listed my latest sites even though my recips don't comply with their new rules.

I did drop an email regarding this issue and I'll post the response here when I receive it.

Bruno has always been really good about listing sites which make any sort of effort to comply with the recip policy.

Perhaps he's just tuning Alta a bit so that his recips are more flexible or appear first on a page filled with large banners.

(The straight link lists have been playing this latter game for years now... LOL!)
