In another thread Bjorn brought up a point where megasites = poor value for money. I agree, for the most part.

What percentage of gay sites do you think actually offer a good value for the money? Is it going up or down? Are the cookie cutter sites really hurting the industry by offering poor value for the money.

It's something that has confused me for a long time. You take an exclusive content site and it does offer value for the money. But then, what about the consumers that like variety and enjoy a boatload of crappy plugins. To them the variety (at the expense of quality) is value.

I have taken slack in the past because I felt Rainbow Revenue's cookie cutter crappy sites taken has a whole offer value to the consumer. While others say they are just total crap.

So, are we offer REAL value to the consumer now and what sites are? Are cookie cutter sites offering value?

we only offer exclusive movies and to be honest i feel that we offer way way way more value for money then the sites filled with leased feeds. I know we dont have the same amount of movies and other content that they and many other sites have but in the end i guess it depends on what you want...

Do you want exclusive content and perhaps a little less movies or would you rather just have a buttload of different feeds in different niches featuring run of the mill porn ?

i think different surfers wants different things so some will be happy with the feeds and some wants exclusive on the mark movies that cater especially to their niche, be it raw fetish, bareback or solo muscle guys showing off..

So i dont think the cookie cutter or mega sites hurt the industry - ofcourse sometimes a member might buy a membership to the wrong site but beyound that i dont think it hurts the industry..

I think there is a positive trend lately (with some exceptions) of new good sites being launched with exclusive content.

They might not be huge, but instead of trying to offer every niche, feed and type of men.. they specialize in niche markets and produce good themed content.

I really think exclusive niche content is REAL value for money. Not quantity but quality and catering for specific needs.

The one problem is the recent upspring of exclusive one off sites where they produce 9 vidoes and photo sets, create a site around it and then never update the site again. Thats really bad for everyone and could kill off new good exclusive sites who actually update and bring good value.

yes, i totally agree...

9 movies is too little and the photosets dont really add all that much more value to the site...

I missed the other thread, but imho, megasites have their place just like niche sites have theirs. We have some very good megasites that retain for ages, because members get 5-6 new videos and 5-6 new photo sets every week, plus they have access to our entire catalog which is quite substantial now. Sure, members may enjoy one niche, but most seem to like a bit of variety too.
