TGP.com is on auction at Ebay and it was valued at $1 million. Do surfers REALLY know what TGP stands for? I see a lot of sites that are tgps that use tgp in the domain name. But do surfers really know what tgp stands for? It's like niche sites. Do they really know the term niche? Aren't these webmaster terms?
How would one even brand tgp.com?

Nope, they usually call tgps "galleries". So gallery/galleries are better for sure.

I asked a "web savvy" porn surfer friend of mine if he went to tgp's and he had absolutely no clue what I was talking about. When I said "you know, those free galleries with all the pictures" he knew exactly what I was talking about. In my opinion, no way is it worth one million and no I think it's pretty much an industry only term.
This is why I think it would be so hard to brand it. Unless it was a huge depository for webmasters to submit links to that automatically generated to other tgp's etc. Something like that.

I would say yes. 3 letter domains can get expensive, and there are probably a few businesses out there who use the name TGP, it doesn't just have to relate to adult.

I always knew what a tgp was as a surfer. I would search out "gay tgp" on google or whatever.

See, I NEVER new what a tgp was as a surfer. And even 3 letter domain names are not generally fetching over 1,000,000 now a days.

Just like some of you have said. Just the 3 letters factor gives it some value.
tgp traffic still the hardest to sell. when you have people looking for free porn.

The whole irony of the term TGP is webmasters don't even fully understand the term. I was talking to a webmaster about FHG's for his TGP network and after 30 minutes he said, "what I really want is FHG's for my MGP's". So, now I am confused. Is a TGP only pics?

Well yes, a tgp would be pictures only. A MGP would be movies. However FHG's could be both. I would label FHGs at Picture FHG's and Video FHG's.
Of course, that is just my 2c

POS.com sold for $252,500 last year. POS.com is a popular acronym for point-of-sale, a retail term. If you search google for “POS” you’ll also find other uses including the stock symbol for Catalina Marketing and an acronym for Public Opinion Strategies.
I THINK POS is worth way more than TGP.
p.s. It also means piece of shit in im lingo. :)

TGP.com is worth 1,000,000 $ only if he makes 100,000 $ per month, otherwise domain itself is not worth or if someone is prepared to pay that amount for sole name...
I mean... come one, it's crappy domain, tgp.... at least for a tgp.

It is a crappy domain name. I actually think it's a horrible domain name. Three letter domain names like zen are killers imho.

I never could get off to a 10 second clip, it was more annoying than anything, especially with a trade script. I could do much better with a TGP.
Oh yeah, I was trying to get off for free. LOL, I wasn't buying anything, as I wasn't 18 yet. LOL

I don't like movie galleries either. When I am searching to buy porn I like to see the photos rather than videos popping up in windows media all the time.
