Is it good to split the update?

I'd like to know your opinions on the following: Authentic Footballers has been promptly updating every friday with a new player. Each update contains a lot of stuff of that same player: playing football, interviewed, naked, showering, jerking off, some times jerking off for a second time. Pics and videos.

All this content is released together in one single day, the friday.

I've been wondering if wouldn't it be better to split the content in 3 deliveries, all of them in the same week.

For instance, monday we introduce the player through the interview and we show him playing dressed; wednesday we show him naked; friday we show him jerking off and showering.

According to your opinion and/or own experience, would this bring any benefit or it would be pretty much the same?

imo, don't split the update. your members may want more frequent updates, but most want full updates with cumshots. btw, imo don't split the video into pieces without also offering a full scene.

I am not much of a surfer, the wife is, and he really hates things being split like that. Least that's his opinion. Now if you were doing two or more different models, then yeah, one on one day, the other on another, would make sense.

You are going to get very different opinions. Surfers want a new guy everyday with as much content as you can give them. But that ain't gonna happen.

We split our content up so that we can get our members in the habit of coming back to the site several times each week. We try to have something new almost every other day (less often in the summer months when repeat traffic drops considerably. If you want them to become a part of your site, you need to become a habit.

Not to mention that some folks ONLY look at the photos, some are not interested in the cum shots and some really prefer the behind the scenes content.

It makes your site look very active and engaging. We, as site owners, need to remember that members are not joining ONLY for the update but for the library as well.

Your results may vary.

I'll let others advise on what you do in your members area, but when you give the content to affiliates, it's best to give it all at once in one package.

I am gonna disagree, with a caveat. IF the update is split as mentioned above, then YES, all at once is preferred.

ON THE OTHER HAND if you do two or three updates a week, with different guys, then NO I don't like the idea of getting it all at once. I want the update, when it happens.

My reasoning is that, when it all comes at once, I pick and choose too much. In addition, it puts your site out of my mind, until that update arrives.

Well I have a bit of a different opinion on this from testing it over the last few years, so going to go against the general flow here.

We split updates on some of our videos that are 45 minutes to 1 hour. I haven't received any complaints from members from doing this and actually think it helps retention...we've had several comments on 'Part 1' of the video where members write 'I can't wait to see the update next week and see the rest!' In my mind that means it's one more week they have decided to keep their membership and let the rebill go through. When we split the updates like this we also do previews at the end of the 'Part 1' showing them parts of the following weeks update to get them even more excited for it.

Of course if you ask members they'll say they want the whole video, but imo it's good to leave them wanting more. It's just like soap operas or episodes of 24...you get addicted to it and want to find out what happens so you tune in the next week.

I think the best thing to do is try both ways...if you notice a drop in retention or a lot of complaints from members then you can always go back to just giving 1 update per week. Personally though, I'd be more apt to keep membership to a site updating every day or at least several times per week then just once per week, so every time I looked I knew I'd see something new.

One thing I'd advise though, if you make the update too short (like 5 or 10 minutes) it will most likely look cheap and you will probably get complaints. At the absolute minimum I'd say you need to give them at least 15 minutes of new video each update, and preferably at least 20.

Release the interview and a couple photos a week before the update to tease surfers as to what's coming next week, this helps retention.

A week after the update release the shower scene and a second cumshot (if available)

Doing the above shows surfers of activity to come, and more of what they liked the previous week :)
