Talking to affiliates I get different answers. Some look at total money made, others look at on a per click basis, while others I am still confused at what they told me.

So, what is the best model these days in determining if you market a sponsor? Per click, conversions, total made per member?

I always looked at how well I converted the sponsor mostly. On sites that I wanted surfers to bookmark I gave a little more leeway for quality sites even if the conversions were not as good. And of course in some niches, I was at the mercy of the sites that I was marketing as there may have been only a couple of sites...

In order of importance:

1. Ratio
2. Payout
3. Access to member area
4. Quantity of contents
5. Quality of contents

My approach is pretty common. Doing some maths I found that 1 blog makes about $150 every month so far. Looking for $1,500? 10 blogs... $15,000? 100 blogs and so on. Maybe they'll do better with time when they get older and beefier.

P.S.: I love my hoster. 97 WP installations updated to 2.5.1!
