So, I have been trying to get some "data" on how long a cookie really lasts. I went through my cookies yesterday and realized that Trend Micro wiped them all out two days before. Did some research and found this interesting article about CJs 5 year cookie.

That applies mostly to mainstream. But, it is interesting.
I guess my question is:
How long does a cookie really last in a surfers browser. Mine all got wiped three days ago by Trend Micro.

Well mine get routinely wiped, either by kaspersky, asquared, or adaware, so it does tend to make me wonder about surfer's, and all that klafluffel about cookie durations.

At BoyFetish.Com, we have our cookies set so that they last for 31 days including CCBIll cookies for our affiliate stuff. The problem I have noticed is that some amateur programers do not understand how to set and delete cookies very well. The time for cookies have to be set in seconds. So in our example, if a cookie is good for 31 days, you have to set the time when your programing to: 2,678,400 seconds. Many make the mistake and set them for 31 which in your computer language means that the cookie is only valid for 31 seconds. I have also seen programers that just do not know the correct time conversion and screw it up that way.
