It might seem like a really stupid question, but does actually blog sites make money? I presume it is since a lot of people keep building them and doing new ones.
I can see the larger blogs making a lot of money since the amount of work they must put in to keep them going would have to be paid for somehow. But what about smaller blogs?
Has blogs taken over from Free sites?
If it does make money, is the amount of work involved in blogging less and more efficiant than creating smaller free sites?
Or is the blog model actually much the same as free sites where you got to keep creating new blog sites to make money just as with free sites?

I have a few blogs set up and they do OK.
Seem to be a little better then tgp's for me.
I set them up with RSS feeds from various places and add original content once or twice per week.
Some of my larger blogs do well, but that's because of the domain names, not necessarily the blog format. (www.spanking.com, www.sexchat.com)

Blogs rock - google loves blogs, I think getting a primo listing in google for good key words is much easier with a blog than with any other type of site.
Do they make money? Absolutely!

i love reading this question from YOU :D
bjorn, did you know that JD makes entire blog networks for people? and a lot of them are repeat customers.

and btw, yes - there is money in blogs. gaydemon might see the traffic flow very differently than a regular blog because you give your blog users a lot more free and updating things to look at.

I think as porn webmasters we are missing a huge opportunity. The real money seems to be in celebrity, political and other mainstream blogs. I've read somewhere that Perez Hilton earns $40,000 per day from Adwords and BlogAds... sorry, I can't find the link now.

Blogs make money. I set one up, did one link trade and hit the top 10 for "asian boy nation". The blog only had 3 posts. It sold like 20 membeships a month until Google didnt like it anymore.

Would be interesting to find out whey Google didnt like it anymore.
I do know that google indexes pages very quickly and leave them on there (fairly high on SERPS) for a while, then return them to the unknown..
I think its some sort of freshness filter they got on which helps sites the first couple of weeks before they get put into a normal queue.

Not sure. Mine was there for like 6 months. Hell, I decided not to add to the blog because I t was probably making more sales per month than if I started writing posts. One post linked to Youtube and the other wikipedia. The final post had text like fjdhjfh jkddjfh kdjkh dhfkj jkdfhkjduyu ddskj dfdj dhk jhkfjd dhfjd kdhfdh kdh kdhkfjd as I was testing how a pic looked with text.

JD, what are your prices?
Id like to know that too.
My blogs make some money but no where near what others claim there making. If anyone fancies doing a masterclass thread on blogs, id find that really usefulll.
I suspect like most things, there is an art to blogs.

I started two blogs this year, and I am quite impressed with the volume of traffic they pull in ... the better one pulls in as much traffic as my directory site (which takes a helluva lot more work!)
JD, what are your prices?
299 I do bulk pricing as well ;)

I know, I had top rankings for "gay fuck" and "gay fucking" for a month, made tons of sales, and now it is back on page 3 or something. BOOO Google!
