Well finally I got the new design and layout online for gaydemon!

I'm almost back from the dead.. still lost of issues to sort out and some parts isnt quite finished yet. And the blog on Movable Type 4.1 (upgraded as well)) is a pain in the arse to manage or sort out.

The new version also includes a brand new Video section:

Which I think is its first of its kind, its a great big database of videos available to view online. So far indexed 60,000+ videos from all the largest video providers.

ANYWAY..

Please check the new gaydemon out, and please please let me know if you see any bugs, weird things or stuff that doesnt work.

Looks good, except on the videos pages there is a lot of repetition, for example, in bareback page 1 "Active Duty Barebackin Heroes 2" is listed 3 times.

Yes, thats correct. If you look more closely on those vidoes, you can then see that they are provided by 3 different companies / sites. The video database shows details for each provider so you compare the cost, formats etc.

Im still working a bit on making it more clear. But basically it will allow visitors to choose the site and video the suits them the best.

I like the new layout, love the demon graphic on the sidebar, and as for any bugs, well when I take a few weeks off, I'll go through it... so much to see, to drool over... lol From what I have seen, everything seemed to work fine, but haven't gone into it far. Very nice though. :cool:

he uses gossamer links, but he's had them do many mods, so it's almost like a custom script.

good catch! that page is coming up 404 for me - so are the sort by a-z, z-a and by date.

You know I am picky. On the Video page I would have the gaydemon go all the way down the right. Something about just having the head.

Even after seeing your site in various stages of design, I still had a hard time finding the "new" links on the right nav. You may want to check and see how those pages are doing. Your surfers may need to be "trained" a bit.

The only other thing that I noticed is the font size amongst Directory, Reviews, and Videos. The video page seems a little cramped. I would bring the Demon all the way down the right and use the same font size as your reviews. Three column instead of four?

Here's few pointers from me... Don't want to come out harsh, just what I think could be better:

1. Fonts are too small and site categories on the first page are all cramped and stuck together, let them have some space...

2. Navigation on right... I don't like it, what was wrong with left?... plus again, fonts are too small

3.Again, on reviews page, all important points, site score etc. are on the right... heck, we do read from the left to right, so our eyes tend to search on the left page first...

4. as others mentioned, sorting reviews from A-Z turns Forbidden

5.Videos page... you could put some featured video on the top, like you have in other categories...

Anyway, I like it all in all, but right navigation is ruining it for me, plus fonts are too small on some parts of the site...

Like Basschick said, it used to be Gossamer Links, but its so heavily customized that its nothing like the original version. But it allows me to bring or tie together lots of different custom programming and scrips in one program through Gossamer Links.

The gaydemon toon on the video page will cover the whole page. That first page and many other details on the Video section isnt finished yet. I'm working on some small scripts that will pick out and showcase certain videos from the database which will take up that space.

Thanks Mlivanili! Some really good points there. I'm surprised you think the text is too small, actually glad you said it because I always worry I do all the text too big. I originally had them all the same size.. might try that again.

Got to go through though, very good points though!

Thanks everyone, it really helps! Still lots to do, but i decided on Monday I had enough and just put it all live, then go through the bits that are wrong. So much easier than trying to test it out in your head rather than seeing how it actually will look and work.
