Should free sites....

Match the color of the site they are advertising? I ALWAYS sold more with a free site that was black.

Thoughts?

i tried matching freesites, avs sites and galleries to the sites i was marketing. the result was unanimous - i also sell better on black. btw, i also tried white, and sell much better on black or another dark color.

Thats a good question abostonboy, I wondered the same!

I'm currently trying to use similar colours, but more on a design side rather than a sales thing, but would be very good to know whether it does actually make a difference.

what do you mean "a design side rather than a sales thing"? my sites were designed in similar colors to the sites they were promoting. it wasn't a sales thing, per se - the entire sites were done in those colors. sales were a lot lower than on black.
