View Full Version : How long should a blog entry be?

Are mine too long? Too many preview pics? Personally, I like the idea of putting the text inbetween a set of pics in order for the visitor to read at least some of it before seeing the more risque' photos. Good idea or not?

I'd like to hear what you all think. You see blogs come in many forms, sizes promotional techniques etc. :D

Well I think length needs to be varied, to keep things looking different and fresh.

That said, I am not thrilled with the text color you have, least for my old weary eyes. Makes it hard to read for me.

Also, not sure I like the pics going direct to randyblue or whatever, sort of seems like a bit of a blind linking that might turn some surfers off.

just my 2 cents

I'll keep the text colour in mind. Thanks.

As for the pics leading directly to a tour or the main paysite page - on the advice of a lot of people here my sales have gone up from doing that. I used to link to galleries and I really feel the surfers just took advantage of all the free content. Although, I may start including both links and experiment with that to see how it goes. I do see your point though. I have no idea if that constitutes a blind link or not.

Well I don't link to a FHG, but I do give them a group of thumbs, that link to the big pic, like this (http://gay-fiction.com/reading/naked-models/amateurs/2008/220/meet-matt-and-nathan/)

Mind you, if your picture is large enough, it might not matter.

Nice layout. I like that. However, in my honest opinion you're offering way too much for free. Don't mean to come across like I know it all or anything as I'm very far from that. But with the amount of images you're offering a surfer could get off with all of that without a problem. Some may want more too I suppose and then sign up.

Anyway. Like I said. What do I know? lol If you're making sales from that - and I assume you are otherwise you wouldn't do it that way - then excellent!

This is a controversial thing I think. Works better for some and yet not for others from what I can tell.

RDude - I like the length of your posts, but it would be more readable if you broke it into more paragraphs. Not that the visitors are "reading for the articles", but visually you'd be saying that someone might read it... ;)

Eh, who knows how much is too much or not enough. I find it easier this way, plus most free sites, tgp's offer about the same number of pics if not more, so I just go with the flow... whistle

I hear ya there man. If it aint' broke don't fix it right?

Thanks for the advice rawTOP. Glad ya like the length too. Should I put the paragraphs inbetween the pics maybe? I do that a lot when writing for Bjorn and he mentioned he liked that style as it is a bit different.

I'll work with it anyway. Thanks again!
