Have anyone started a brand new site in the last few months and had any luck with Google?

Anything you noticed? Does it seem to get listed, indexed by Google? Does it recieve any traffic or is it slow to build up?

I started my Twink Porn Blog in late January and Google and Yahoo started sending traffic pretty quickly with Google being my #3 and Yahoo #10 referer.

The domain was brand new...

I started Big Dick Hunt two weeks ago and I've already had 25 visitors from Google, not bad considering the blog isn't finished and I only have a couple of posts.

I have the same experience as Michael.
Built an RSS fed blog recently with ping optimizer and google sitemap plug in installed. Started getting a few hits a day off the first few posts within a week and getting about 7-10 hits a day from them.

A blog I build about a month ago is a combination of handwritten and RSS is getting about 120 a day with more than half from google the rest from link trades.

For all the problems I'm having, Google doesn't seem to be one of them. My new sites were indexed rather quickly.

So from that it seems Google does index sites fairly quickly and do send some traffic already after a week or two. Interesting. Thanks!

If you are lucky Google might even show your site in the index after two days (e.g. site:domainname.com)

About a weeks seems "normal" these days, yes

I believe you can get indexed fairly quick if you add your site in webmaster tools and verify it.

I have noticed Google is faster than before. My new sites get indexed within a week.

I'm not having a problem getting newer sites or blogs indexed, but I am having issues with lower traffic to my older sites. In fact, it's rather frustrating. It might be because it's tax time in the US, I don't know. I hope things pick up again soon though.

After reading this post I wanted to see how long it took for google to send traffic on a new site so I started an RSS fed blog www.gaylifetwinks.com with google sitemap and ping optimizer plugins and listed the site at a few linklists.

Results:
3 days. Yesterday was day 3 since the blog went live and google is my 4th biggest referrer sending 14 unique visitors yesterday and nothing the day before.

I find if you have a blog and use google webmaster tools and have good indexed blogs, you can be indexed within a day. After 6 months, one of my blogs is seeing 2,000 hits a day in google traffic, any good?

10 new sites over the last 8 weeks or so.

Google is quick to index and start testing out keywords, but I've found that it's about 6 months before it starts getting good.

Thanks, thats interesting. 6 months for natural good traffic .. So no real improvements from a couple of years ago. I guess google still takes its time before deciding if your ok or not.
