:bang: Yep, not quite a month, and here is the next release of WP, with an IMPORTANT SECURITY FIX, which uh, they will tell us about later, when it becomes public, but until then they say UPGRADE IMMEDIATELY.

Now I have no idea how important of a security risk there is, which is really the problem. We rely on them to tell us, but one sometimes get tired of all the 'crying wolf' chants that come from program developers.

Anyhow there is an upgrade released, which yes, includes over 70 bug fixes.

I can't believe they are already updating WP again.I guess the days of having a "stable release" is in the past..huh? :bang: If you have multiple installs , this really becomes a pain, IMO.

It really is a pain in the ass, but the automatic upgrade plugin does sort of make it less painful. The automatic install/upgrade works okay, though I had a few issues with it, still it was a lot quicker than having to manually ftp the install or upgrade.

It really is a piss off, I mean they took so long in upgrading from 2.3 to 2.5 and here we are, released March 29 and it is April 25 with a security fix and over 70 'other bug fixes'. Security stuff, well I can see that being legit, I mean until it's out there, hard to know who or what can hack what, but bug fixes, and over SEVENTY? :grrr:

I know what you mean and it's ironic you brought up that about the 70 bug fixes.Because I was just talking to my sister who is also in the biz and we were saying the exact same thing.I mean what did they do when it come to releasing 2.5, just say oh this looks good enough and sent it out.You would think they would check and re-check such a big release.

You really would, but then I suppose we can say its better than some, like NextGen Gallery, it has had FOUR upgrades since the release of 2.5, and really, you have to wonder if anyone checks their work anymore. :bang:

I totally agree and also if any of these script developer's even think about all the people with multiple installs of their scripts.Say your a script whore like me..haha.I have quite a few different types of scripts running on my websites and usually taking a whole day to upgrade, test, tweak etc. gets old fast.Especially like you described with the 4 upgrades of that other script in such a short length of time.

P.S - Have you upgraded yours yet and if so,any kinks so far?

Yep I have upgraded to 2.5.1 and well, yeah there are a few kinks I think.

The sidebar widgets under 'design' seem to float then disappear, until you hit save, then suddenly it is there. Makes for a real bitch when you trying to change the widget location.

Couple of plugins started acting weird, Bsuite being the worst.

And you know, I don't think these plugin folks test their stuff with other plugins running. :bang: Everytime I go to the plugin page, something needs upgrading, and the bloody automatic upgrade is hit and miss. Sometimes it works and updates the plugin, other time it doesn't.

When it doesn't, the plugin disappears from the plugin page totally, sometimes. :grrr:

Overall, it wasn't bad. Irritating bugs but then that seems to be life with developers

I love to be with natnet. When I have to update a script (and I have LOTS of wordpress installed on my server) I have just to send a ticket saying to update to the latest version the domains and they do ALL for me. I really love it :D
