ePassporte question – How did you know money is available to withdraw?

Okay a couple of weeks ago the ATM ate up my ePassporte card, and I'm still traumatized over the event. Every time I have to stick that card in, I'm literally shaking with fear that it will happen again. If that makes me a drama queen, so be it.

Recently I received a payment for something, and I can't tell if the payment has been cleared to withdraw.

Let's say I transfer $20.00 from my ePassporte Wallet to my to ePassporte Visa Virtual and Visa Electron.

When I go to the Online Statement of my account, and scroll to ePassporte Visa Virtual and Visa Electron transactions of recent activity it will say Available Balance: US$20.00

However when I look at the line that displays the actual transaction, under the heading balance it says 'Pending'

Is that normal? Or is there something screwy with my account?

The reason I ask is because I do not want the ATM to eat up my card again if there is something wrong with my account.

I tried emailing Michael at ePassporte and he is away until Monday.

Any help anyone can give me would be greatly appreciated.

I find ePassporte a pain to deal with. So I wait until I've got several hundred dollars in my account then I just transfer it to my bank. That way I know the money is available on my end and that the money is available.

i only use atm's that let me slide my card through, or bank atm's if the bank is open so that if something goes wrong, i can ask them for my card.

You can just try to send the amount available in your Wallet to a friend or merchant account to see if it will go through, if it tells you it will costs you $ 0.30 to send the transfer it means the funds are available, then you click on No, I do not accept and visit an ATM, otherwise it will tell you you don't have enough available funds in your Wallet.

When I withdraw cash using my ePassporte card at an ATM, I always check my ePassporte account online as soon as I get home to work out what exchange rate I paid. The Online Statement always shows my lastest transaction as "Pending" .. even tho I have the cash in my hand ... I think what you are experiencing is normal.
