the US dollar every day is more and more depreciate,
maybe this is not a problem for US companies, but for companies located in Europe begins to be a problem.
are you thinking to make any change in your prices?
maybe rise the prices in Dollars? or maybe change to Euros?

Mario,
This is a very good question. We are a UK based company.
Ccbill does have geo-ip pricing, but as of yet we have not used it.
We did make changes in our pricing. However, one change was reducing the cost of our regular monthly recurring (not increasing it). We also added a 5 day/$20 trial. The whole goal of both was to shift more into the recurring model vs the non recurring. It seems to have worked and rebills are strong. So, we have made some headway in closing the declining US dollar gap by "playing" with our prices.
I really don't think we could put our join page in Euros and expect to sell many memberships to US customers. On the other hand i don't think we could put our UK customers on an increased price Euro join form. We would price ourselves out of the market. Even UK customers are use to join forms in US dollars.
I think the best any site can do is take a hard look at their numbers and make pricing adjustments accordingly. For us we found a little drop in our prices generated more revenue.

Lloyd

As a UK based affiliate it is a problem for sure - we simply earn less all the time.
Lucky for me I have made up for the week dollar in more sales. BUT it could have been even better and easier if the dollar had atleast remaind a bit stonger :grrr:

Customers are never going to want prices to go up so the only way I see euro billing schemes happening is if the dollar ever became stronger than the euro (in which case european traffic would benefit from the euro pricing instead of be hurt by it). Now european traffic is loving the buying power they have and unless you had a coalition of paysites who all agree to implement euro pricing they are going to see your join page and monthly fees and leave if they feel its too pricey...

That is exactly the problem. The ONE good thing, at least for us, is since we have a high percentage of UK customers, both our conversions and sales are up in that market, as well as our retention. The site is more of a value to them now. So it's really a numbers game.
We have played with our pricing to get more consumers in the recurring model and are "enjoying" more UK sales due to the "value" of the site with the dollar at a low.
It still has not worked out to pre US dollar falling levels, but not as bad as it may seem at first glance.

We changed our pricing (geo-targeted) and increased prices in other parts of the world and have seen NO decrease in those international sales.
The Big Mac index is alive and well.

How do you think we would do in the UK? As you may know the UK accounts for a high % of our sales, but there is kinda a little friendly competition amongst a few sites there. If you know what I mean. Would us being the only site in Euros at a higher price point affect us in a negative way?

I'll try the geo-ip pricing, I think still is in beta test.
in dollar for US customers and in Euro for european people.
but for other countries, what is better charge in US dollars or in euro?
in the past, US dollar was the currency of internet, but now.... I'm not sure.
there are many changes in the world, yesterday heard in the CNN that china have almost the same people connected to internet that USA. Now the barrel of oil have the price in dollars, but experts say in the future is possible in Euros. Russia and Saudi Arabia change to Euros their benefits of gas and oil. And is possible that USA begin a recession.
