I am considering launching a 10-20 site text tgp network and was jsut wondering if anyone has used smart text yet?
If not, what are you using for your text site(s) ??

i went to check it out but the demo seems to be a thumb preview tgp
http://stxtdemo.smart-scripts.com/
and the admin seems to be thumb-based. i see it also imports from the st database. from the features page "Visitor is able to choose different type of index page, text/thumb, alphabetical and popularity" http://www.smart-scripts.com/?action=smarttext
so does this thing actually make text-only tgps?

I only use TGPX myself, never really tried anything else. But TGPX does both Thumbs and Text, whichever you prefer. And its hard to fault it for anything, except maybe a slightly complicated install due to some requirments.

Doesn't Smart Thumbs do a decent job of making text templates? I would think that it could handle a text based network without any problems.

Good luck. I'm assuming it's going to be a gay site right? I was thinking about getting a few going myself but the lack of good gallery descriptions made me decide not to. Let me know how it goes for you.

Yeah , i'm going to try it out on outlinks.com. I think we may have to add our own descriptions....will see after the install how it goes when i start to import sponsors.

Well I am in the process of evaluating Smart Text and so far it is very obvious that the automated features of it's "smart text" functionality are definately stacked toward running straight sites. The default list of niches / categories are all straight and while they list "gay" it is listed as a single category and not broken out into it's own niches. Almost as if they considered "gay" a "niche" instead of a complete market with it's own set of niches. Now you can specify certain keywords for your own categories and the script will look for these keywords in the descriptions of the galleries that sponsors provide, but how many sponsors actually put relevant niche specific keyword in their gallery descriptions? Since the site appears to be structures for straight sites, so far it appears that gay sites are not going to get the full effective value of this script's auto updating or "smart text" functionality.
I'm still looking at this but as of this point, I've lost some of my enthusiasm because of the way it appears to work and how that matches up with running gay sites. I'm going to keep plugging away at it a bit more to see if maybe I'm just missing something... I hope I am as I would love to have the "smart text" functionality, as it was designed, on a gay site.
