As we speak the Santa Claus parade is rolling through the streets of downtown Toronto (and it's a big one, probably as big as the Macy's NYC Thanksgiving parade).
Pull the drapes shut, turn off the television, and hide. It's all over now until January 3.

Yes! Our Thanksgiving is in October, so we have nothing between Hallowe'en and Christmas. So our season generally starts with the Santa Claus parade in Toronto.

Michael, the day after Canadian Thanksgiving, College Park was already putting up Christmas decorations.

Since my Dad passed away a few years ago, I am just not a holiday person at all. I think I need to go into hiding.

That's late! We've had Xmas ads on TV for a couple of weeks now AND supermarkets started to sell Xmas stuff start of Nov. Bloody hate it. I do love Christmas but I would really want it to just stick to a couple of weeks in December, not months!!

I wrote to MP last year asking them to ban Christmas ads, steet lights etc until December. I got a nice letter back saying "your comments have been carfully noted." Bastard probably didn't even read it. Still come next May he might have more time on his hands to read
I am serious about it too, I think they ruin Christmas for us all by starting way too early. By the time it comes, you have had enough. If they stuck to just December I think we would all enjoy it so much more.
If I remember correctly, here in CT it started before Halloween. Stores such as Lowe's put up their trees and decorations for sale.
Llyod, I understand.
