View Full Version : Why some blogs have more feed readers than others?

This year I've concentrated my efforts onto these two blogs:

www.justman2man.com and www.roughstraightmen.com

The first one is older, but the second one makes more sales. However, there are more surfers that read the first blog through feeds (e.g. Google reader) than it's the case for the second one. I can't figure out why.

Does anyone know which factors can affect the number of feed readers? Is there anything wrong with the theme for the second blog that makes it less "feed friendly" than the first one?

I also think the first blog gets more search engine traffic, and again I'm not sure why.

my guess as to why the first one gets more traffic is it's less niched. that tends to mean more traffic AND less conversions. the more niched your traffic, the less traffic there is but the more likely what you have is exactly what they're looking for.
